Cheesy Garlic Mushrooms

 1/2 lb mushrooms

1 clove crushed garlic

1-2 oz butter

a good squeeze of lemon juice

1/4 pint double or whipping cream

20z grated cheddar cheese


salt and pepper

Fresh bread crumbs

Melt butter in saucepan and add the mushrooms and garlic, when cooked add the lemon juice and a good sprinkling of parsley, pour on cream and continue to cook for a short while for the cream to thicken, season to taste then put into a gratin dish top with grated cheese and bread crumbs and brown under a grill sprinkle on more parsley to serve.  If preferred the mushrooms may be cooked for 3 minutes in the microwave before adding the cream and the cheese.
